  • Mr. Garside holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Science, Safety Engineering and Construction Management from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and a Licensed Professional Planner in New Jersey.


  • Mr. Garside is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials (NAARSO).


  • Mr. Garside Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and a New Jersey Licensed Fire Protection Inspector (HHS).  He has previously held a New Jersey Articulated Vehicle License and a National Amusement Ride Safety Inspector's certification.


  • Mr. Garside’s professional experience includes forensic engineering investigation and evaluation related to mechanical engineering and safety engineering, including industrial and construction equipment, systems analysis and evaluation, product failure analysis, construction codes and standards analysis, construction and general industry workplace accident investigation and analysis, accident reconstruction and causation analysis, property loss and personal injury causation analysis, fire code and standards analysis, fire and explosion investigation and analysis, and building mechanical systems analysis.


  • Prior to joining AEL Mr. Garside served as Product Engineer at Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg, NJ. His work included designing multistage centrifugal boiler feed and process barrel pumps including overall layout in accordance with API and ASME Pressure Vessel Code Standards, designing water-cooled elements for high temperature pump applications, designing serrated throttling bushings and specified mechanical seals for specific pump applications. Mr. Garside supervised field projects both in the U.S. and overseas including equipment installation, startup, failure analysis and troubleshooting, as well as preparing and implementation of field performance test procedures for rotating equipment.
