  • Mr. Schwalje holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University, madison, New Jersey, and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Health and Safety Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and New York.

  • Mr. Schwalje is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, National Safety Council, ASTM, American Society of Testing and Materials, ASTM International Committee F-13 on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear (former), the International Code Council, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists, the Illuminating Engineering Society, and the Snow and Ice Management Association.

  •  Mr. Schwalje is a State of New Jersey Licensed Fire Inspector and Fire Sub-Code Official, and maintains Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Certification for Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Certification for Designing Effective Safety and Health Management Systems.

  •  Mr. Schwalje’s professional experience includes forensic engineering investigation and evaluation of mechanical designs; design of manufacturing processes; design of storm drainage facilities; building and site plan layout; plant and facility layout; testing and determining slip resistance of walking surface materials; forensic engineering investigations. He has provided expert trial testimony relating to machine design, construction and general liability matters; accident reconstruction; laboratory research and product development; design and evaluation of construction projects; safety evaluations of playgrounds; safety evaluation of fitness equipment and facilities; slip resistance, design and construction of walking surfaces in both State and Federal Courts throughout the United States.

  • Prior to joining AEL Mr. Schwalje served as Project Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Staff Engineer for various engineering firms in New Jersey and New York.
